<p>MOSCOW -- Camille Beane, age 64, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Maine Medical Center in Portland after a brief illness.</p>
<p>She was born in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Romeo and Simonne (Dumont) Ouellette. She attended St. Rose School in Chisholm and graduated from Jay High School in 1965.</p>
<p>In 1969 Camille graduated from Farmington State College and began a 35-year career in education, teaching in Jay, West Forks, Bingham, and Moscow. She was very proud to receive a master's degree in education in 2005 from the University of Maine and ended her career as literary specialist.</p>
<p>Following retirement she continued her interest in education by serving on the SAD 13 Board of Directors. She enjoyed discussing educational philosophy with others, even after her retirement. Camille was truly a life-long learner. She was a very intelligent person who possessed a wealth of knowledge on a wide array of subjects. She loved learning and sharing her knowledge with others. She was frequently called upon to answer questions on science and nature from her curious grandsons.</p>
<p>Camille married Donald Beane on June 23, 1973, at St. Rose of Lima Church. They loved each other very much and were nearly inseparable.</p>
<p>Camille had many interests and talents. She was someone who seemed to have success in anything she attempted to do. She valued attention to detail and took pride in a job well done. Over the years, her projects included making baskets, wreaths and Ukrainian Pysanky Easter eggs and refinishing several pieces of furniture. She made beautiful quilts and knitted afghans for many family members. She decorated many beautiful cakes for friends and family to celebrate weddings, showers and birthdays. She was renowned for her flower and vegetable gardens and gourmet cooking. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and knitting, and had recently learned to knit mittens and hats for her grandsons.</p>
<p>Camille was devoted to her family. She was someone who always put others first and could be counted on to help others in time of need. Camille loved spending time with her family, especially her three grandchildren whom she spent a lot of time caring for. She enjoyed taking several vacations and trips with family members in recent years, including an Alaskan cruise and trips to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park, Prince Edward Island, Williamsburg, Va., and several trips to Disney World.</p>
<p>Camille was a person of great faith. She was a member of St. Peter's Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, sang in the choir, and was a member of the Altar Guild. She enjoyed Bible study and reading books about the lives of the saints. She felt a particular connection with Saint Therese of Lisieux. She went on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France, in 2008. This trip was a very meaningful one for her.</p>
<p>She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Donald of Moscow; daughter Rebecca (Beane) Ambrose and her husband, Tom, of Saco; son Glen Beane and wife Alison of Brewer; grandsons Noah, David, and Geoffrey; her mother, Simonne Ouellette of Farmington; her sister, Mariette Castonguay, and her husband, Tom, of Jay; special friend Sister Dorothy Bujold; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.</p>
<p>Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Giberson Funeral Home, 18 River St., in Bingham. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. June 2 at St. Peter's Church on Owens Street in Bingham with Father John Mazzei officiating.</p>
